Our amazing Writing.

Today during Reading time the children used the sharing stage to share some of their amazing writing with their peers. Children love to share their stories with others and we are all learning to be a good auidence.

Writing - Planning the Playground

The Piki Pod today are creating, planning and labelling the new playground.

Working in groups the tamariki had to decide what they wanted in the playground and why.

Twitter Wall

The purpose of the Twitter Wall is for children to share their learning.  This may be something new they have learnt or something they are learning to do.  Today we introduced the Twitter Wall to the children.

Sharing

Today Peyton shared her news to a small audience on the "Sharing Stage".

Fraction Olympics

Today, we are learning about fractions.  We played "Long Thump" and we used halves to count how far we jumped.

We are learning to write a fraction.

We put our halves together to make a whole.

WOW - Slippers

The Piki Pod is a shoeless environment and on the first day of Term 3 the children received a pair of slippers.  The slippers were kindly knitted by Miss Boaler's Nana and Mrs McKinley's Mum.  We are lucky to have such supportive whanau.

The beginnings of the Piki Pod

The Piki Pod is a collaborative learning environment.  The school library space was transformed in the school holidays to provide a learning space for 46 Piki Haere learners.
