Rich Maths Task

The Piki Pod has been doing very slow maths this week.  We have been learning to persevere, do lots of thinking and to problem solve.  Our task was using crabs, starfish and shrimp we had to make a pattern and the 15th creature had to be a crab.

Congratulations Londyn!

Today Londyn celebrated learning all her Teddy Bear words. Fantastic effort Londyn!

We made our first connection into the Piki Pod brain.

Rocky Shore and Pania of the Reef

On Tuesday the Piki Pod and Team 1 headed off on our EOTC trip to the Rocky Shore and Pania of the Reef.

The children were very excited!!

The day was a warm Hawkes Bay Day!  We had 2 educators from the National Aquarium in Napier to help us with our learning.

Carol talked to us about being guardians of the sea and being respectful.  Carol talked to us about being a "scientist" and looking like a scientist.

Do you know what I am?

We asked lots of questions and were very curious about the different creatures in the Rocky Shore.

After thinking like scientists we had lunch and a play at Spriggs Park.

Then we headed off to Pania of the Reef where we sat and listened to the story and enjoyed a nice cool juicy!

Thank you to all the wonderful whanau helpers we had! It was a fabulous day.
